Chris Kai is a Rwandan-Canadian singer, author, and composer born in the Democratic Republic of Congo in the province of Beni. His birth name is Christian Kayiranga. He started singing at the age of 7 and was heavily influenced by artists such as Usher, Michael Jackson, and others. His music style is Afro-fusion. Chris Kai officially began his music career in 2018 with the release of his debut EP album titled "J'arrive". The eponymous song was a huge success in the Montreal community. This caught the attention of the Tanzanian journal "Bingwa", which recognized him as one of the emerging Rwandan-Canadian artists to watch closely. Since then, Chris Kai has released several singles that have been well-received in Canada, including "Ajeje" (2019), "Corona" (2020), "Anita" (2021), "Nemesis" (2022), "Woman" (2023), and many others. He continues to make his mark on the Canadian and African music scene with his captivating and emotive music.
